Corrine's First Birthday

My baby girl turned one and we had the cutest pink butterfly birthday for her. I couldn't help it. I had to have cupcakes, banners and pink balloons for her. I love to make birthdays special and I'm already thinking of themes for Race's 4th birthday in 7 months! I made a Happy Birthday sign for the door, a banner for the window and goodie bag name tags. I think I did a good job for my first creative venture. Here are a few pictures.

I got the cupcake stand from http://www.thecupcaketower.com/ and the cute cupcake toppers from http://www.maryhadalittleparty.com

Mommy loves you so much Corrine!

Dreams

Ever since I can remember, I have always dreamed that I would be a mommy. I would carry around my dolls with their fully equipped diaper bags and couldn't wait for the day I would be a real mommy. Every one that knows me when I was little remembers me with a doll. I would follow pregnant woman around in stores because I wanted to be like them some day. I would babysit every moment that I could and I even became a pediatric nurse.
I remember the morning that I found out I was pregnant with Race. I had a dream of a baby wearing a hat with an airplane on it. We had been trying to get pregnant and I had a miscarriage a couple of months before. I went into the bathroom and took a pregnancy test and there was 2 lines. I did another one just to be sure and it was positive, too. I was pregnant and I knew that I was going to have a baby boy because I had a dream. I woke up Scott to tell him the good news. I was scared that I would have another miscarriage so we didn't tell anyone besides close family until I was about 10 weeks along. On October 16, 2006 my dreams came true when Race Paul Merrill was born. I was finally a mommy.
We decided it was time to give Race a little brother or sister so we started trying again 18 months after Race was born. We got pregnant again but I had another miscarriage at 11 weeks. I never thought that I would have another one. It was really difficult because we saw a heartbeat and thought that everything was okay. It just makes you realize just how precious life is. We started trying to get pregnant again 2 months after the miscarriage. I had a dream about a baby in a pink outfit. I got up and immediately took a pregnancy test and it was faintly positive. I took about 2 more and woke Scott up and told him the good news. We were so excited and very cautious. I started bleeding at 6 weeks and I thought it was happening again. We went to the doctor and even though I was bleeding heavily, we saw a heartbeat. I knew because I had my dream that we would have a baby girl. On March 11, 2009 our baby girl, Corrine Kristine Merrill, was born via c-section (she was breech). She is such a beauty.
Words can't explain how full my heart is. I love when my dreams come true! I thank God every day for my wonderful family.

Friends

I'm meeting some friends from high school at the park tomorrow and I'm so excited. My friend, Anthea, is bringing her 1 year old daughter, Luana. I hope this is the first of many more get togethers. It has been too long since we've seen each other.
